Plenty of Tilts Ahead for Wildcats in Upcoming Days

Looking at the week ahead for Wilmington High School sports teams.

Though Wilmington High School students have a shortened week due to Columbus Day on Monday, but Wildcat teams have a full slate.

The week kicked off for Wilmington on Monday as the boys soccer, girls soccer and field hockey teams each hit the field in morning action.

Things slow down a bit on Tuesday as the cross country teams host a race at the high school against Melrose. Runners are scheduled to hit the course beginning at 3:45 p.m.

Wildcats are in action on Wednesday as well. The volleyball team travels to take on Arlington in a 4 p.m. match while the field hockey team is the only home squad, hosting Winchester at 6 p.m. at Alumni Stadium.

On Thursday, both soccer teams take the pitch hoping to continue their strong starts to the season. The girls soccer team travels to take on rival Stoneham at 3:45 p.m. while the boys soccer team welcomes the same team to town beginning at 6 p.m.

Friday is a busy day as well. The volleyball team plays at home against Winchester beginning at 4 p.m. as the only local home team. The field hockey team travels to Stoneham at 3:30 p.m., while the football team hopes to add another notch to the win column.

The Wildcats hit the gridiron at 7 p.m. in Wakefield, looking to build on last week's 10-0 victory over Woburn.

The sports schedule continues into Saturday, with a pair of teams in action. The boys soccer team travels to Billerica on the day while the girls soccer team hits the field in Tewksbury. Both games are set to begin at 10 a.m.
