Rep. James Miceli announced this week that the Commonwealth's Division of Public Housing released the formula funding letters for Tewksbury and Wilmington.
These formula funding letters will serve in "providing a predictable revenue stream for priority projects," according to the announcement from Miceli's office.
Wilmington received $120,709 for Fiscal Year 2016 and $101,585 for Fiscal Year 2017.
The Tewksbury Housing Authority, meanwhile, received a total of $430,770. Of that money, $213,385 is allotted for Fiscal 2016 and Fiscal Year 2017.
"The formula funding allows housing authorities a stream of
funds to plan and implement capital projects," the announcement said. "These projects allow housing
authorities to perform priority repairs, expand housing capability, implement
projects to decrease utility and maintenance costs, and other necessities."
Miceli said the Department of Housing and Community
Development will also award funds to cover other expenses through a Contract for
Financial Assistance in the near future.
