With the one-year anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombings earlier this week, it is now time for another somber anniversary.

Friday marks the one-year anniversary of the day that Massachusetts Institute of Technology police officer Sean Collier was shot and killed by the alleged bombers.

One tribute for the Wilmington High School graduate Sean Collier will take place on Friday night.

A Facebook event page called "Shine a Light for Sean" asks participants to illuminate a porch on the evening of April 18 to remember the sacrifice the MIT police officer made that day.

"There has been a grassroots effort to remember our fallen heroes by simply illuminating a porch light on a specific evening, often times that night denotes a 'milestone' like 1 month after the tragedy, or one year," a post on a Sean Collier tribute page that is hosting the event reads. "Please join us April 18, 2014, in honoring and remembering Officer Sean Collier."

Will you illuminate a porch light for Sean Collier? If you do, feel free to share a photo of your support on the site.
