Police Make Seven OUI Arrests Over Three Days

Of the seven drivers arrested over the weekend for allegedly driving under the influence, four have already been arrested on previous charges.

Wilmington Police were busy over the weekend, making seven drunk driving arrests in a span of three days. Those arrests included four drivers who were arrested for a subsequent offense of operating under the influence.

According to the latest police log, the first arrest of the weekend came on Friday at 12:59 a.m. Police stopped a driver between Exit 40 and 41 on I-93 North.

Clifford C. Matthews, 56, of 17C Forest Acres Drive, Bradford, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence, second offense, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, speeding and marked lanes violation.

Then late Friday night, police made two more OUI arrests within 19 minutes of each other.

After receiving a report at 11:20 p.m. of an erratic operator at Glen Road and Lawrence Street, police arrested Trevor William Kelly, 32, of 26 St. Paul Street, Wilmington. He was charged with operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation and failing to stop for police.

At 11:39 p.m., police arrested Robert J. Timothy, 48, of 26 Cottage Street, Tewksbury, for operating under the influence of liquor, third offense, and marked lanes violation.

Unfortunately, the arrests did not stop there. Police made three arrests in just over an hour early Saturday morning.

First at 2:11 a.m., police arrested Daniel L. Walter, 27, of 319R Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, after a traffic stop on Gorham Street for operating under the influence of liquor, second offense, and marked lanes violation.

Just over 30 minutes later at 2:42 a.m., Patrick Horan, 34, of 292 Andover Road, Billerica, was taken into custody for operating under the influence of liquor, third offense, leaving the scene of personal injury, leaving the scene of property damage, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, speeding and marked lanes violation.

On High Street, at 3:30 a.m., John D. Waksmonski, 31, of 93 Mammoth Road, Londonderry, N.H., was arrested for operating under the influence of liquor and marked lanes violation.

Finally, on Sunday at 1:19 a.m., Richard G. Croteau, 42, of 45 Barrows Road, Reading, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor and marked lanes violation after he was stopped by police on Lowell Street.
