Police Log: Wilmington Man Summonsed for Armed Assault to Murder

The following is an excerpt from the Wilmington Police log from Saturday, Aug. 10, to Monday, Aug. 12.

Saturday, August 10

7:03 a.m.: A truck knocked over a pole on Shawsheen Ave. Police found that the entire traffic post was knocked over at the corner of Shawsheen and Hopkins. The officers were able to move the pole out of the roadway and place caution tape in the area. Police assisted with traffic and the DPW responded with traffic signs.


11:23 a.m.: On Lawrence Street a resident reported that wine bottles were left on her property. She said that someone would have to enter the property in order to leave them there. Officers determined that the bottle on her front lawn could have been thrown from a vehicle.

1:22 p.m. Calling from Main Street a resident reported that a dark vehicle pulled into the area and passed on the wrong side of the road with what appeared to be fresh front end damage on it. The vehicle was located behind a building in the area by police. An involved woman came to the station to get information and to be checked by the Fire Department, but she was not transported. Patrick T. Peterson, 29, of 154 Austin Street, Boston, was arrested and charged on an outstanding warrant and leaving the scene of personal injury.

8:05 p.m.: Dispatch received a call from Andover regarding a pedestrian struck in the roadway on Ballardvale Street in front of the Market Basket warehouse. Andover Police was on scene and send their Fire Department as well. A Medflight was requested and the State Police reconstruction team was called in to assist.

Sunday, August 11

12:05 a.m.: A caller reported about three women on Evans Drive sitting in a minivan and smoking a bong. He also said there is a party going on in the neighborhood. Police located the party in the neighborhood and spoke to the homeowner.

4:19 p.m.: On Marjorie Road a resident believed that someone may have entered her home the previous day and stolen her jewelry box.

7:08 p.m.: Calling from Dadant Drive, a resident reported that a teenage male came over to her home stating that he was just threatened that someone was going to hurt him. Police summonsed a 22-year-old Dadant Drive resident for armed assault to murder, assault with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery.

Monday, August 12

5:03 a.m.: A resident on Jaques Lane reported that his vehicle was broken into. A wallet and other items were stolen from an unlocked car.
