Police Log: Stolen UPS Delivery and a Gas Leak

The following is an excerpt from the Wilmington Police log from Wednesday, November 28 to Thursday, November 29.

Wednesday, November 28

6:50 a.m.: An eldery male was walking in the area of Presidential Drive and Boutwell Street. Dispatch attempted to notify the party's daughter, but she did not answer. The man was walked back to his house by an officer.

6:59 a.m.: On Clark Street, a resident reported a firearm is missing after having company on Tuesday.

11:22 a.m.: Calling from Jordan Street, a resident reported that a tree company doing work in the area blocked the roadway. Access to the first four or five homes was completely blocked. Police called the company's owner, and they moved the truck.

2:04 p.m.: A driver on Salem Street was issued a summons for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and speeding in violation of special regulation. The vehicle was towed.

4:41 p.m.: At the Whitfield School on Middlesex Ave., a caller reported three males behind the school on the stairs who appeared to be trying to gain access. They were gone on police arrival. An officer reported that the back staircase to the school appeared to be damaged and unsafe.

5:50 p.m.: Police assisted the Fire Department with a stove fire on Glen Road.

Thursday, November 29

6:50 a.m.: Officers were off at Castellano's Corner Store on Shawsheen Ave. in reference to newspaper deliveries being taken.

9:37 a.m.: On Somerset Place, a resident reported that UPS delivered a package to the home at about 1:13 p.m. on Monday and when she returned home at 2 p.m. the package was missing. it contained a pocketbook valued at about $280.

11:31 a.m.: A possible gas leak was reported on Ballardvale Street. The Fire Department and National Grid responded, shutting off gas to the building.

4:51 p.m.: On Rt. 125, a driver reported a road rage incident. The caller reported a vehicle passed her and then slammed on his brakes.
