Police Log: A Fight's Going to Happen and Possible Lure Attempt

The following is an excerpt from the Wilmington Police log from Monday, January 28 to Tuesday, January 29.

Monday, January 28

9:49 a.m.: Calling from the intersection of Church Street and Main Street, a caller reported that she was rear ended by a vehicle that continued traveling when she pulled over.

1:00 p.m.: A resident reported that her fence on Canal Street was damaged sometime after she left for work today. The damage was done by an oil company while delivering oil and the homeowner contacted them directly and will resolve the situation with them.

6:03 p.m.: On Lawrence Street, a car crashed into a pole and injuries were unknown at the time. Officers found there were no injuries and and no significant damage done to the pole.

Tuesday, January 29

1:42 a.m.: Notifying the Department of Public Works that the road conditions in town are deteriorating, including main roads.

5:00 p.m.: Police received a call from a resident who said there was going to be a fight on Lowell Street, then he hung up abruptly. The reporting party called back and stated that he got the information off of Facebook, then he hung up again. The party was being uncooperative and providing no information. Another involved party was walking towards the residence, but turned around when he saw the cruisers in the area. He was spoken to and no information was provided.

5:54 p.m.: On Allenhurst Way, a resident said that her home was broken into sometime in the last hour and a half. 

6:39 p.m.: A Cottage Street caller reported that a black SUV appeared to be trying to lure a female party walking down the road into his vehicle. The calling party lost sight of the SUV but said it took off towards Main Street. Police searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.
