Chestnut Street to Close Due to Grinding and Paving Work

Work in the area could start as early as Friday, depending on weather and other construction projects in town.

The Department of Public Works will begin work on Chestnut Street as early as Friday, causing a road closure that will impact traffic in the area.

The town announced on Tuesday that grinding and resurfacing work on Chestnut Street will begin Friday. The start date could be changed, however, depending on weather and potential scheduling delays with the town's roadway contractor.

While the roadwork is underway, Chestnut Street will be closed between Butters Row and Hillside Way, accessible only to residents of the area.

"Please be aware that this restriction may be altered during construction for concerns due to safety or traffic volume," the town said. "Area residents will have access to and from their properties at all times, although there may be short delays."

Anyone with questions or seeking more information can call the Department of Public Works at (978) 658-4481.
