Local Girl Scout Meets Congresswoman

Scouts learn about conservation.

Rivers are flowing, and for local Girl Scout members, so are the ideas.

According to a press release, Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts discussed the importance of the rivers and environment with Congresswoman Niki Tsongas, on Saturday, September 17, at the River Walk Festival.

Among the group was Alyssa Schuurman of Troop 62002 in Wilmington.

After taking the girls on a tour of the museum, Congresswoman Tsongas also introduced a project for the girls to work on to help make a difference in their community.

"Girl Scouts is available to all girls ages 5-17, and is flexible to meet girls and volunteer’s schedule through a variety of pathways such as camp, troops and a series of activities," said Media and Public Relations Manager Allison Rubin. "Join Girl Scouts and take part in all the fun activities, offered to all levels for girls to participate in.
