Niko, I would just hope the mock accident might make someone stop and think for a second...maybe it does. I feel that just because someone is young and stupid and makes a serious mistake doesn't mean they should die because of it.
Another option is something the town of Bedford does: they don't let you drive to prom. You can rent a limo, have your parents drive/pickup or meet at the school for a bus ride. No teens driving in or out of the prom. This won't stop them after they get home, etc., but I'm sure it helps.

I'm glad the high school and town does this for the students. I hope it helps at least a few of them realize that horrible things happen to young kids.

I think one reason the number of people suffering from hearing loss is on the rise maybe is due to increasing number of seniors? I am not (yet) a senior but have hearing loss (always hard of hearing since my teens)..now that I am 'getting up there' in age it is even more obvious. I will not go to an Audiologist because my insurance company (BCBS) does not cover hearing aids and they are very expensive. So for now I deal with it..I know I will get a hearing aid eventually, but I hope insurance will cover it. I mean lets face it, it's not cosmetic...I've never in my life heard someone say that they want a hearing aid because it looks cool.

We reuse products and recycle; we have a compost bin; we have a rain barrel; I own a hybrid vehicle; I use a clothes line to line dry my clothes; I use green bags at the stores and don't take plastic bags from stores (RiteAid, CVS, etc) when I only have a few items.
We have a garden; we have bushes and trees to attract and provide shelter for small creatures; we built a bat house and have about 10 bird houses on our property.
Sometimes when we want something for dinner, we walk to Elia's for the purchase and walk back home (just shy of a 4 mile round trip...good exercise).
We try to minimize pesticides outside and try to use natural products (vinegar, water) to clean indoors.
We let the sun warm our home in the winter and use room darkening shades in the summer to cool it down.
I'm a member of ewg.org (an org that provides info on chemicals in products we use) and earth911.com, a great resource that provides lots of neat tips and articles.

I feel the public has an absolute right to know how our taxes are being paid out. But I did want to add one comment here..everyone is up in arms about the terrorists receiving benefits (afer the fact), but let's face it, murderers, arsonists, thieves, rapists...all of these people receive benefits (some while in prison, some after they are dead). Sometimes I feel that the government is inadvertently subsidizing all of these horrific acts without adequate tracking. We need more audit, more control, and clearly more oversight and fraud abuse control. The current administration likes to argue that a very small percentage of welfare is actually fraudulent...well prove it, because I don't buy it..I think it's much much larger than they will readily admit.

John, I'm just chiming in here because of your comment on taxes. Just yesterday, I wanted to research our taxes with towns nearby and found the following info on the internet..I just googled 2013 ma taxes and got a few good links...but I made an excel spreadsheet (that is not copying over properly) below. Wilmington does indeed have higher taxes than surrounding towns. It is something to consider. My information came from bizjournals.com.

I agree completely with you Steve-O. I made a comment but still don't see where it is, so maybe it's gone forever....my point was that Michelle sounded very angry and took her anger out on the employees when she should have asked when the manager might be in and try later, or call later. Screaming and having a tantrum in a public place is not something a rational adult does. Venting and taking her anger out on the employees is certainly the wrong thing to do. Yes, everyone jumps on the 'hate BOA' bandwagon because it is easy to do so when the 'evil big bank' isn't doing something at that very moment you think they should be doing.
This is supposed to be a better time when we are nicer to each other instead of lashing out against each other in a soapbox attempt to make yourself feel better and scream about your cause.

I agree Erika, being 'green' shouldn't be a political statement. I'm an Independent and I want to save energy and do what I can to save the planet, I own a hybrid and I love it!
