ReplyMatt,
I would recommend Paul Cardello and the Ipods for Wounded Vets. Paul was a truck driver and a Veteran. He saw the need to bring an item to the wounded veterans in the VA Hospitals to remind them that they are not forgotten.
This volunteer and his helpers were so surprised how this project has grown. It has struck a note in many veterans hearts.
Paul's story is very touching and they have gone above and beyond the 'call of duty'. Also, taking many trips to Washington, D.C. to personally hand new, donated magazines and Ipods to the wounded men and women.

ReplyThe cameras and equipment have been ordered, but will not arrive next week. Like everything on order, it takes time. Once our order arrives, it will be installed asap. WCTV will announce these events as they happen.

ReplyWCTV would like to see a media/meeting room to optimally video the School Committee meetings. If that room has a lockable area to store our equipment. it would allow for more volunteers to video the meetings. Presently, the several hundred pounds of equipment limits the number of people who are able to carry, setup and equip for each meeting.

ReplyWCTV is very lucky to have a Deputy Fire Chief and Building Inspector who are very observant and take quick action. On February 3 while they were on another call on Waltham St., they happen to glance over to our building on 10 Waltham St., and saw the huge accumulation of snow on our FLAT ROOF! They came right over and inspected the inside of the building. When they saw the water sprinklers were 3" below the ceiling line, they knew the roof was weighted down and aiming for the floor. Immediately, they evacuated the building and told us to get the roof cleared of snow. Our landlord, Art Anderson and a small crew shoveled for the entire weekend.
WCTV wants to thank Eddie Cochran and Al Spaulding for saving our roof with their quick action. All our professional audio and video equipment is fine and dry. We have very little damage thanks to them. -

ReplyWCTV has asked parents and coaches to find someone to video the games (baseball, football, basketball, wrestling, volleyball, field hockey, etc...) so the athletes would have a video record of their participation to show colleges. Coaches would, also, have footage to analize their teams improvement and effort. We will train, help and advise anyone willing to video WHS sports. 978-657-4066
