ReplyKevin, I can't believe that you are now trying to use our girls successful basketball team as a vehicle to help promote your agenda to get our selectman out of office. In then what, replace them with a bitter person like yourself. First of all, the voters of our town decided to knock down our gym when we by a wide margin voted for our new HS. This demolition process is already 8 months behind and it should have started last July and the meter is running because of bitter people like you.
It is now funny that you now are using our girls basketball team and couple of weeks ago it was our Pop Warner Cheerleaders and Football teams, who's limelight you ruined by bringing in your spite and distain for our town selectman. Kevin I spend every weekend going to sporting events in this town, to home and away games to watch our kids play and root them on. Not "once" have I ever seen you at any of these sporting events and now you seize this opportunity to use them to promote your vendetta against the wishes of the good people of Wilmington. I suggest that if you are going to use our kids for your personal needs, then get out of your cave and start supporting our children in person. Then maybe you will start to realize that these kids deserve the opportunity of a good education in the right enviroment. Kevin you have every right to take on our town officials and yes even the voters of our town, but please leave "our kids" out of your twisted spiteful fight to be heard. -

ReplyKevin,
How about another pig farm, like the one at the other end of town!! Man what are you thinking!!! I guess you don't go to many youth sporting events in this town. And I am sure you don't follow our Wilmington kids to the surrounding towns that we play against in many different outdoor sports. Our town does the very best it can, with the fields we have, but we are so far behind almost every town in our area. You may think you are the future of this town, but you are the past. If our town boards wanted to put a farm there, you would find oil in ground, just so you could be on the other side of the issue. For once do the right thing and support the kids of our town by letting the committee do there due diligence before you decide what is best for everybody.Joe

ReplyChristine,
Thank you for this article on 2012 Wilmington Pop Warner program. Both the football & the cheer programs were a huge success this year at all levels. I know it has only been a couple of weeks since the season has ended for our girls and boys. But not seeing one article from either the Patch or the Town Crier I was starting to think the efforts for all involved were going to pass without notice. That would have been a shame considering what all these kids fought through for almost 4 months. Despite injuries, weather, and tough competition the children of Wilmington did themselves proud. Good luck to A and B Cheerleading teams in Florida.Pa Joe

I wonder if the following Ivy League Schools have people as smart as Kevin.
Harvard, Cornell, Yale, Princeton, Dartmouth,Columbia, as well as other local colleges,
Boston College,BU, Northeastern. All of these schools have Turf Fields. Apparently these schools did not look into the effects of these fields on it's players. There are over 150 turf fields at the college level and well over 500 Turf Fields at that High School level in this country as of 2010 and I sure there are even more now.
Kevin why don't you moved to Cambridge and take on Harvard University and leave our little town alone. Children of Wilmington need and deserve a new High School & a new field. -

ReplyI just hope all the children of Wilmington realize what a hard fought battle that the Town of Wilmington waged in their behalf. It's town management and the "majority" of it's town people never waivered in it's efforts to build a new high School. It is time to move on and just maybe the first class entering the new high school will some day live in our town and tell their children how a true democracy working together and following our laws can accomplish almost anything.

ReplyKevin, can anyone comment on this site without you making a comment back at them? Even when it is not directed at you, you still feel compelled to make a remark!! Who has time to sit around and stir at their computer all day just waiting to jump on someone? You have way to much time on your hands. Would someone out there please find Kevin a job. Then maybe when he is contributing taxes like the rest of us, he will see our town like us "TAX PAYERS" see it. A town that is financially strong and a great place to bring up children. I know you played sports when were young, if you want to help our kids like you claim. Use your energy & enthusiasm and roll your sleeves up like the real people of our town. They work all day and then coach our kids or rake the fields before games etc. These men & women volunteer what little free time they have to help our kids grow and interact us a team. Time for you to give back with your sweat, not your mean spirited words!!!

It is a week that all Wilmington residents came be proud of. The reason I am confident that we are doing the right thing in celebrating our countries birthday the way we do. Is that so many our neighboring towns people come to Wilmington to join us for this special week. And even the local complainers are quiet this week,
Maybe our town is not so bad after all!!! Have fun and enjoy your families. -

Kevin, I have lived in our town for almost forty years and I have never once voice out loud my opinion about people viewing issues differently than I view them. But enough is enough!!! If the Town of Wilmington had done everything you had ask them to do over the last 10 years, you still would have found something to complain about. There is nothing about our town you like. "WHY DO YOU LIVE HERE" Let's see, you certainly don't like our Police and Fire Departments. Apparently you have never needed them or you have changed your mind a long ago. I know you have no use for our Town Manager, all he has done is keep this town with a surplus, while every town around us is suffering financially. Thank you Michael for your efforts! You whine about our taxes, but this the way our country is run. From the federal goverment all the way down to our little town. You have absolutely no use for any of our town boards. Now you want a recall of the entire Board of Selectmen. If you had won a seat, you could have called for the recall of the other 4!!! I can only speak for myself, but from my point of view, you waste more of the towns time & money than the rest of us "TAX PAYERS" combined. That is why as a town we vote on issues that pertain to all us. The town has spoken as a majority on the building of a new high school. Get over it, life is to short. The children of this town deserve the spotlight, not you! Do the right thing for our kids, support the new high school.

Reading some of these comments make me wonder why we blame whichever party is in the White House for ever problem we have in our lives. It is no more President Obama's fault this happen, then it was President Bush's fault for 9/11 or President Lincoln's fault for the Civil War. If you are more concern today about being a Democrat or a Republican shame on you. We are all Americans, act like it!!
