ReplyWhile I'm happy for Tracy, I selfishly want him at the helm of the new high school. Kevin....I was really hoping for some informed discourse on this matter. Please let others respond to my posts.

ReplyA Dave and Buster's. Think of a much better Bostonville Grill. Better food, tons of big screen TV's for sports, arcade with games for all ages and lots of party rental space. I look forward to the Merrimack Valley Pavilion, but come winter, it's all lazer tag and pizza.

ReplyMr. O'Reilly,
Just a thought, but after you're done paying attorney fees going all the way to the Superior Court don't you think the money could be better used? Perhaps buy a new house in a more preferred area? I guess you could give it to your lawyer. You'll lose and they will be richer.

ReplyKevin,
You can't use marketing materials from a competing industry to make your case. Try looking at scientific investigations published in peer reviewed science journals. I have. Guess what? There is no scientific consensus that turf fields harm human health.

ReplyI'm so tired of the worn cliche "building don't teach students, teachers teach student." This is simply code for I know nothing about how education works but a new school does will not benefit me personally."
If you really believed that teachers matter, then give them the work facilities to do their jobs and don't lose the good ones by underpaying them relative to the state salary average (2010 latest Mass DOE reporting of state average $68,781; Wilmington average $63 209).

I love physical books too but the reality is that younger generations do not embrace them the way we did. Most textbooks and class activities are bundled and available online through book publishers. The high school also has online databases for research. Some schools have complete virtual libraries , books, newspaper articles, journals included. Besides lightening-up the backpack, online books can never be damaged or lost.
I don't think anyone is proposing that Wilmington take the town library away for adults like us who like physical books.
Now, I'd really like to see how that yoga class is going to work for the boys at the high school. I agree with Jean on that point.
