New Owner Hopes to Boost Liquor Store Sales

Among the items discussed at Monday's Board of Selectmen meeting was the liquor license transfer to Paul J. Kneeland, who will take over Main Street Liquors.

Main Street Liquors isn’t going anywhere, but a new owner does hope that its sales will be going up. Paul J. Kneeland was in front of the Board of Selectmen on Monday night to approve the transfer of the All Alcohol License for the 335 Main Street business from its current owner as Kneeland works to complete the purchase of the liquor store. Kneeland has entered into a purchase agreement from Robert P. McCann, Jr., and said he intends to continu operating the store in its current location while still under the same configuration. “The inventory is very low,” said Kneeland. “Our intent is to reinventory and remarket the business. Main Street Liquors is the worst liquor store in Wilmington. The prices are way too high and there is no selection at all. Hopefully the new owner can improve the store.   more ›
