Facebook Page Started To Aid Avalon Oaks Fire Victims

Page is serving as a gathering place for people looking to help those families who lost everything in the Feb. 8 fire.

The 4-alarm fire at Avalon Oaks on Feb. 8 made headlines and sent plumes of smoke into the sky that could be seen for miles. But almost two weeks later, as the buzz surrounding the fire has faded, the 36 people made homeless by the blaze must still deal with the aftermath. A Facebook Page -- www.facebook.com/FebruaryBlizzardFireVictims -- has been started to gather resources to try and help the families impacted. The page was started by Barbara Warren-Sica but has quickly developed into a clearinghouse, of sorts, for various resources, suggestions and ideas. One effort being featured on the page is a fund for the fire victims that has been set up at the Reading Co-Operative Bank. Those wishing to donate can send contributions to: Reading …
