Choosing a Teacher of the Year in Wilmington wasn't easy. That's why after receiving several nominations, we decided to spotlight three. The majority of Patch readers' nominations for the 2012 Teacher of the Year went to this trio of educators. So find out what your fellow residents had to say about them below. We've had several nominations for who made this a year to remember in Wilmington, and there's still time to make your selection. As we look to prepare our Athlete of the Year, Person of the Year and Teacher of the Year articles for next week, we are looking for input from our readers. Among the entries we've had for the Person of the Year are Paul Cardello for his work with iPods for Wounded Veterans, Lou Cimaglia for his contributions to Veterans Services, and now retired Town Manager Mike Caira for finishing up decades of service to the town. Several residents also nominated Kevin MacDonald, who has clashed with town officials throughout the year. MacDonald has been a key figure in the appeal of the Wilmington High School project, which …

Your children are off to a good start. My daughter had Mrs. Holloran (Miss Rogers at the time) back in 2002. I will never forget when she said at our first meeting, "These kids are ready to learn." An excellent teacher.   more ›
