Wilmington Celebrates Senior Prom in Style [VIDEO]

Students dance through the night during Friday's senior prom in Danvers following Promenade at Wilmington Middle School.

Wilmington High School seniors were in a festive mood on Friday night, celebrating prom in style with Promenade at Wilmington Middle School before loading into their cars and limos and heading to Danversport Yacht Club. Students jammed the dance floor after enjoying dinner to start the night at the venue located on the water. There is a balcony at the back of the dance floor where students were able to sit and enjoy the view on a crisp May night. Principal Eric Tracy was in attendance along with a host of other faculty members. Tracy said students were behaved throughout the night, spending most of their time in the center of the dance floor.

Before Wilmington High School seniors arrived at Danversport Yacht Club for their prom night, they strutted their stuff in front of family and friends during the annual Promenade. The annual event lets the students show off their finest dress when they are announced in front of the capacity crowd and walk across the auditorium stage at Wilmington Middle School. Wilmington Students Ready to Dance the Night Away

Senior prom is scheduled for Friday night in Danversport Yacht Club, while Promenade is at 5 p.m. inside Wilmington Middle School.

In just a few weeks, Wilmington High School seniors will graduate and head in different directions. But on Friday night, they’ll be together in one place and in a festive mood. Wilmington holds its senior prom on Friday night at Danversport Yacht Club in Danvers, and event that students look forward to throughout their final year at the school. “The prom is definitely the biggest event of the year,” said faculty advisor Marissa Bortone, who helped organize the event along with Meghan Burns and others. “(Students) love the prom because it is a fun night that they get to share with their friends from Wilmington High School.
