Several readers have asked what is being built on Burlington Ave., and we have the answer.
After Patch answered what is being built behind Ristuccia Arena, several readers had a follow up question. Multiple followers on Facebook and Twitter were curious what is being built on Burlington Ave., across from the MBTA station. For the answer, we dug into the archives back to February of this year. During a Board of Selectmen meeting, Matt Mittelstadt, managing director of EA Fish Development, said that the previous structure had been demolished and his company planned to get to work on the foundation in May. Construction is underway at Ristuccia Arena and it's sparked curiosity from Patch readers, several who questioned if a new arena was in the mix for the town. So just what is being built behind what is, for the time being at least, the official practice facility of the Boston Bruins? Wilmington Planning Director Carole Hamilton provided the answer, and it is not a new skating rink that will be built. The land is being developed by Joseph Langone of Northeastern Development. Opening date not yet announced for The Learning Experience.
The construction project underway at 220 Main Street has peaked the curiosity of Wilmington residents. So what exactly will be moving in to the building being built behind Sonic? Though there is no opening date announced on the business' website, the Wilmington Planning Department confirmed that The Learning Experience will be the tenant once the construction is completed.
