What's The Status Of The Burlington Avenue Housing Project?

A reader wants to know when people will start moving in to the Burlington Avenue housing development.

Question: Are the apartments at the new Burlington Avenue development ready to be rented yet. It seems like there is still work being done. Answer: "METRO @ Wilmington Station" is definiely in its home stretch. According to information on its web site, tenants will start moving in on June 1. Applications for leases are being accepted now. Upon completion, METRO @ Wilmington Station will feature 78 apartments priced at market value along with 30 moderate affordable income rentals, totaling 108 apartments. There are also 35 garage units on the property.

Burlington Ave. Apartments Coming Closer to Fruition [VIDEO]

According to the developers for Wilmington's newest apartment buildings, the project is right on track for its scheduled opening.

When designers for Wilmington's newest apartment complex met with selectmen last winter, they said their company prides itself on delivering projects on time. One year later, they're on pace to keep that promise. Designers for METRO @ Wilmington Station said they expect to be completed construction by late spring or early summer, just over a year after the group purchased the property. Construction crews have finished 60 percent of the facility, with framework in place for all of the rooms and the nearby garages. Work has already begun on the outside of the buildings as well. “It’s crazy to look back in that we purchased the land less than a year ago, and we’re already walking through a project that’s more than 60 percent complete,” said …
