Staples is on its way out. So what should be on the way in? With the confirmation on Wednesday that the local Staples will be among the 30 locations across North America that closes its doors, there is now an opening in the plaza on Main Street. Coffman Realty, which leases out the Wilmington Staples location, told Patch the company is already in the process of finding a replacetment for Staples. But in the meantime, we want your input on what you think should go there. We've already had some suggestions on the Wilmington Patch Facebook page, including several residents who would like to see Trader Joe's move in. So it's time for you to play community planner. The property has a history to it. Before it was subdivided and this structure built, it was part of the old tannery property. The occupant before Dinette World was AVCO who researched at this location using mercury and boron.
