Dear Editor, I would like to thank The Chairman of the Board of Selectmen Michael Newhouse for running the Veterans Day Ceremonies this past Sunday. It was a wonderful tribute to the brave men and women that have served our country in the Military. It was a beautiful day and as usual the Town of Wilmington turned out to show their respect. The Wilmington High School Band, Police and Fire Honor Guards were there as well as the 344th MP Co's Honor Guard did a great job. The 344th MP Co. is scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan in April of next year. Thank you to all involved in making Veterans' Day such a nice tribute to Wilmington's' Veterans. I am extremely proud to be the Veterans' Service Officer of such a proud and passionate town when it …

Wilmington Veteran's Agent Lou Cimaglia packed packages and was on the field prior to Sunday's New England Patriots game versus the Buffalo Bills.
Given that it was Veterans Day, it was only fitting that Lou Cimaglia spent Sunday with the Patriots. The Wilmington Veteran's Agent was on hand at Gillette Stadium to help pack boxes for troops overseas before the team's game versus the New England Patriots. Just before kickoff, he was also on the field to help stretch a giant American Flag across the field. Be sure to check out Wilmington Patch's coverage of the town's Veterans Day ceremony, including photos from the day and video as well.

The town will hold its annual ceremony at 11 a.m. on Sunday with help from local members of the armed forces.
Residents are encouraged to thank members of the armed forces for their service on a daily basis. On Sunday, Wilmington will have the perfect opportunity to do just that. The town holds its annual Veterans Day ceremony on Town Common Sunday at 11 a.m., including a variety of speakers and several groups of the military represented. “The crowd we get is the best part,” said Veteran’s Agent Lou Cimaglia. “Over the past seven or eight years, the crowds have grown bigger every time. It means a lot to see a Town Common full of people who took the time out of their day to thank the veterans. That means a lot to me.” While Cimaglia is normally the emcee for the event, this year he won’t be able to attend. Cimaglia will be representing Local Heroes…

The Wilmington business will offer free car washes for veterans on Sunday.
Wilmington's King Triton Car Care Center is continuing its annual tradition on Sunday. In honor of Veterans Day, the Main Street business will offer free car washes for veterans on Sunday for a ninth consecutive year. “I don’t know of many other places that give something away for absolutely free on any day,” said general manager Anthony Freniere leading up to last year's event. “We live in a different world now and we feel like members of the military don’t get a fair share of the thanks that they used to.” Veterans can come to the car wash on Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to receive their free service. Wilmington's annual Veterans Day ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. on Sunday on Town Common. Check back with Wilmington Patch for …
