We received the most nominations for these three educators. Is there anyone else we missed? Let us know in the comments section below.
Choosing a Teacher of the Year in Wilmington wasn't easy. That's why after receiving several nominations, we decided to spotlight three. The majority of Patch readers' nominations for the 2012 Teacher of the Year went to this trio of educators. So find out what your fellow residents had to say about them below. Kelly (Cushing) Sullivan, Special Ed teacher at the West Intermediate School: "Truly the definition of 'teacher.' She not only inspires her students but their parents as well!" Patrick McInerney, Third grade teacher at Woburn Street School: "Not only is Mr. McInerney a great teacher he is just simply an overall nice guy. He will spend his breaks outside with the kids at recess playing soccer and football with them. His class if full…

Let us know by Saturday who you think should win Athlete of the Year, Person of the Year and Teacher of the Year.
We've had several nominations for who made this a year to remember in Wilmington, and there's still time to make your selection. As we look to prepare our Athlete of the Year, Person of the Year and Teacher of the Year articles for next week, we are looking for input from our readers. Among the entries we've had for the Person of the Year are Paul Cardello for his work with iPods for Wounded Veterans, Lou Cimaglia for his contributions to Veterans Services, and now retired Town Manager Mike Caira for finishing up decades of service to the town. Several residents also nominated Kevin MacDonald, who has clashed with town officials throughout the year. MacDonald has been a key figure in the appeal of the Wilmington High School project, which …

Wilmington Patch wants to put together stories about the Person of the Year, Athlete of the Year and Teacher of the Year, and we need your nominations.
It was another year to remember in Wilmington, and there were plenty of people who made it that way. But who stood out the most to you? As the end of 2012 approaches, we want to compile stories on Wilmington's Person of the Year, Athlete of the Year, and Teacher of the Year. But we can't do it without your help. Does Michael Caira's final year as Town Manager make him worthy of a Person of the Year story? Lou Cimaglia's efforts for local veterans? She we pick one of the Women of Wilmington or other local volunteers for their support of the town? And on the fields, ice and courts, who was tops for the Wildcats? Did Drew Foley earn Athlete of the Year honors for his efforts in goal for the hockey team and his play on the pitch for the boys …

Nominate in the comments section or e-mail matthew.schooley@patch.com.
Great teachers often fly under the radar. Now is your chance to change that. We want your help in selecting Patch's Teacher of the Year. Last year's winner was Leeann Sadowski, a Shawsheen Elementary School teacher. Who will this year's selection be? The criteria is simple. We want to find a teacher who inspires his or her students, finds a unique way to teach subjects in the classroom, and who is overall an outstanding educator. Your children are the ones in the classroom, and you as parents have met Wilmington's finest teachers throughout the year, so it only makes sense that you help in the selection process. Let us know in the comments section who your choice is, and why. You can also e-mail Local Editor Matt Schooley with your pick. …

Your children are off to a good start. My daughter had Mrs. Holloran (Miss Rogers at the time) back in 2002. I will never forget when she said at our first meeting, "These kids are ready to learn." An excellent teacher.   more ›
