Wilmington Hockey Champs Visit State House [POLL]

The school is honored for its first ever state title in program history.

Wilmington's wild ride as Division 2 state champions took the local boys hockey team all the way to the State House on Wednesday afternoon. “I am proud to congratulate these talented players on winning the State Championship,” said Lieutenant Governor Tim Murray, according to a press release. “This title is a testament to their teamwork, dedication and passion for the game.” In honor of the team's trip to the State House, we want to know. Local Business Donates Championship Gear

ProEx, a Woburn physical therapist, provided t-shirts to the state champion hockey team.

Editor's Note: The following information was provided by ProEx Physical Therapy. ProEx, a physical therapist owned private practice specializing in orthopedics, spine and sports medicine, recently donated custom printed T-shirts to the members of the Wilmington High School Boys Ice Hockey Team, winners of the 2012 Division 2 State Championship. Jimmy Shea, Manager of the Woburn ProEx clinic presented the T-shirts to the 23 Varsity players and several Junior Varsity athletes who were added to the practice roster during the playoff season. Selectmen Go Blonde for Champion Wildcats

Board members said Division 2 champion hockey team has been an inspiration throughout town.

If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, consider the Wilmington High School boys hockey team flattered. The Board of Selectmen sported blonde hair during Monday night’s meeting, similar to the look sported by Wildcat players as they skated to a state championship win with a 3-2 victory over Franklin at TD Garden. Michael McCoy, Michael Champoux, Michael Newhouse and Town Manager Michael Caira all slipped on wigs for the start of the meeting as the majority of players and coaches filled the room. Chairman Lou Cimaglia, however, went for the real thing as he died his hair for the occasion. Judy O’Connell said her regular trips for to the hair salon meant she didn’t have to go for the wig either. Selectmen handed the players …

State Champs Honored at Wednesday Meeting

School Committee invites boys hockey team to meeting, congratulates Division 2 winners.

The Wilmington High School boys hockey team gained plenty of fans along the way as they earned the first state championship in school history this winter. Count the Wilmington School Committee among them. Nearly the entire team was in attendance at Wednesday’s meeting as the Wildcats were recognized for their efforts this season.
