Regardless of the outcome of this spring’s election, there will be at least one new face on the Wilmington School Committee when the next term begins. Current School Committee member Robert Hayes, who had already begun campaigning for the upcoming election after pulling papers at Town Hall, announced during Wednesday’s meeting that he no longer plans to seek re-election. “I’ve decided not to commit to another three years for both personal and career-related reason,” said Hayes. “I will continue to volunteer in the community, just not in an elected position.” Hayes said until this weekend, he had planned on following through with his election plans.
