Thanks to Resident Support, Bradley Hoping to Rebuild

More than 100 residents came out to a fundraiser for George Bradley, the North Street resident whose home was destroyed in a December fire.

Having helped out Wilmington residents for much of his life, tragedy forced George Bradley to ask the community to return the favor. If Friday night was any indication, his fellow residents are more than happy to step up. Residents packed Tewksbury Country Club on Friday night for a benefit event for Bradley, whose North Street home was destroyed in a December fire. While his home was eventually demolished, Bradley is hoping to rebuild in the same spot where his parents built the house after World War II. Bradley doesn’t, however, have insurance, which makes the process a bit more difficult. Fundraiser Seeks Aid for Man Devastated by North Street Fire

A Night of Comedy to Benefit George Bradley is scheduled for January 25 at Tewksbury Country Club.

When lifelong Wilmington resident George Bradley lost his home in a devastating fire on December 6, his friends and neighbors all around town were, in a word, shocked. All over town residents who had come to respect George for his kindness and generosity were devastated to learn of his loss and determined to find a way to help him out. A member of the Wilmington High School class of 1974, Bradley is best known around town for having spent more than 20 years managing the Shell Station on Route 62 in North Wilmington. If you ever owned a hot rod, a custom van or simply needed your truck fixed, you likely turned to Bradley for help at one time or another.
