Somber mood throughout Medford Monday for bombing victim's funeral, no protesters present.
A deep sadness permeated downtown Medford Monday for the funeral of Krystle Campbell, a native daughter killed one week ago in the bombings attacks at the Boston Marathon. The funeral brought out hundreds, lining both sides of High Street as traffic was shut down near St. Joseph's Church. So many came out that the church got to capacity with many still lined up past the St. Joseph's Social Center. While they came to pay their respects to Campbell, 29, who most recently lived in Arlington and worked as a restaurant manager, many also came to shield the family from a potential protest. A 20-year-old Wilmington woman died in a rollover car crash yesterday near Walpole.
Wilmington-resident Ashley Valente, 20, died early yesterday morning after she crashed her 2004 Toyota Camry, State Police said yesterday in a statement. Valente was traveling northbound on Interstate-95 near Walpole when she rear-ended a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica headed in the same direction at about 3:18 a.m. Valente lost control of the car and slid off the road. Her car rolled over and struck a tree, she was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger, Boston-resident Kayla Tolentino, also 20, was injured and taken to a hospital by Norwood firefighters. The driver and passenger of the other car were uninjured. DiPaola. A private service was attended by a small group of immediate family and friends. An instrumental man in the forming of Rotary Park and long-time Little League president has passed away.
A funeral for James A. Tildsley, age 81, a long-time resident of Wilmington, was held this morning at Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., at 9 a.m. before his funeral services at St. Thomas church. He was laid to rest at the Interment Wildwood Cemetery. Tildsley died Monday, November 15, 2010, at the Lowell General Hospital. Born on November 25, 1928, in Medford, MA, James was the dear son of the late Sidney A. and Louise (Minchello) Tildsley. He grew up in Medford, MA and was a graduate of Medford High School. James enlisted in the United States Army during World War II and was honorably discharged in November of 1947. He married Claire O'Neil on June 10, 1950, together they enjoyed over 56 years of marriage before her passing in April 2007. The…
