Business Finds Sweet Success on Opening Weekend

Fro-Yo to Go opened its doors on Friday and saw a line of customers throughout the days that followed.

For Mary Buscone and Tracy Botehlo, it was a sweet weekend. The Wilmington residents celebrated the grand opening of their new business venture, Fro-Yo to Go, which opened on Friday afternoon. After a night of business on Friday, Fro-Yo to Go hosted a grand opening celebration throughout Saturday with face painting, free popcorn and of course plenty of self-serve frozen yogurt to go around. “It was a big sigh of relief,” said Buscone. “We’re really happy with the way it all came out.” The business was slated to open just over one week ago, but some hang ups caused a delay. But it was worth the wait for the business’ owners, who saw a steady flow of customers throughout the weekend. “It’s a little scary being a business owner, but it’s …

Wilmington's first self-serve frozen yogurt shop is slated to open at 5 p.m. on Friday with a grand opening celebration set for Saturday.

Mary Buscone and Tracy Botehlo’s business dreams will become a reality on Friday. Despite a setback of about one week, Fro-Yo to Go will open its doors for customers at 5 p.m. for the first time. The self-serve frozen yogurt shop as been in the planning stages for more than one year. “We want everything to be done right for both us and our customers, so the little inconveniences that we have faced have been a learning experience,” said Buscone, the business’ co-owner. “We are back on track and looking forward to opening on Friday.” Fro-Yo to Go has hired 10 students from Wilmington High School and Shawsheen Technical High School to help run the business. Frozen Yogurt Grand Opening Delayed

Originally scheduled to open on Saturday, Fro-Yo to Go will now likely open next weekend.

Wilmington will have its new self-serve frozen yogurt shop. It just won't be this weekend. The grand opening of Fro-Yo to Go was slated for Saturday morning, but owner Mary Buscone said the business will have to wait to open its doors likely for one more week as the Health Inspector must first sign off on the property. Buscone, who teamed up with business partner Tracy Botelho to plan the store, said Fro-Yo to Go will most likely reschedule its grand opening for Saturday, August 18. The schedule has not yet been finalized. Fro-Yo to Go will provide the town with its first self-serve style frozen yogurt shop, a concept that has grown in popularity. News of the store opening in town has had residents buzzing, many who said they're excited to…

New Business to Serve Frozen Yogurt With Local Twist

Fro-Yo to Go plans for August 11 opening day as owner Mary Buscone hired only Wilmington residents for construction and operational jobs.

Mary Buscone’s business is still several weeks away from opening its doors. But it’s not difficult to predict that Wilmington’s newest ice cream shop will be well-received in the community. “I think I get 20 messages a day asking when we’re opening,” said Buscone, the owner of Fro-Yo to Go, which will open on August 11. “It’s been no secret that we’re coming to town.” Fro-Yo to Go, located in the Square One Plaza at 2 Lowell Street, will provide 12 flavors of self-serve frozen yogurt along with a variety of topping choices. Customers fill their own cup and can do so with multiple flavors if they desire before hitting the toppings bar. Buscone teamed with business partner Tracy Botelho in planning the business for the last year. Botelho is …

Hi Mary, if you check up on these comments. I stopped in today and had a good experience. However, I was disappointed at the lack of fresh fruit options available. I think you would get more repeat customers if there were more healthy topping choices. Please add fresh blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and kiwi or mango.   more ›
