Wilmington High School principal Eric Tracy said he will most miss his students as he leaves for the new job at Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School.

Eric Tracy is excited about what is ahead of him. But he can’t help but thinking about what he’s leaving behind. Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School announced this week that it hired Tracy to take over as their principal, effective after the current school year. “It’s a bittersweet thing for all of us,” said Tracy. “The kids have always been my favorite part about my job. They make every day very easy with the way they present themselves. I’ve always bragged that I can take them anywhere, and I still say that. They’re my energy that gets me through the days, and I always look forward to coming to work.” Tracy said he enjoyed the interview process, as it allowed everyone involved to get a good idea if he would be a fit at Hamilton-Wenham. …

What Will Students Learn in P.E. With No Gymnasium?

Demolition is slated to take place at the high school over February vacation. So what will gym classes consist of for student?

The Wilmington High School gymnasium will be coming down over February vacation. So what exactly will students do with no gym to run around in? That is one of the first questions many residents have, and for the answer we turn to the blog of WHS principal Eric Tracy. He provides some information in a blog post from Wednesday.  Tracy said that for at least the next two years, Physical Education and health teachers will have to get creative, utilizing outdoor space when the weather allows and larger indoor rooms when it's raining, snowing or cold. Health class will be taught during the first half of this semester while the P.E. portion will come second half in an effort to take advantage of warmer weather. According to Tracy's blog, outdoor …

High School Students to Spend Time in Working World

Wilmington High School is preparing for its Job Shadow Day, giving students the chance to decide what they may want to do after graduation.

Wilmington High School students will be put to work at the beginning of February. And if past experience is any indication, they’ll likely enjoy every minute of it. The school is continuing the recently stepped up efforts to grow its Job Shadow Day, which featured more than 100 participants last year. On Monday, February 4, principal Eric Tracy hopes that more than 120 of his students will get a first hand look at what goes on in the real world. “They get that real life experience to say that the field they shadow is something they really want to do, or really don’t want to do,” said Tracy. “That’s a really good thing to realize before you start applying to a college. Kids take it very seriously. It’s a day out of school, but really the …
