With a new location approved and coming in to Wilmington, we want to know if you think there are too many of the chain in town.
During a recent Board of Selectmen meeting, members approved a license for a new Dunkin' Donuts that will open on Concord Street. The business will be close to the industrial area of town, giving employees of those companies a short trip for a breakfast meal. But in the bigger picture, many residents responded with skepticism because the Concord Street location will mark the seventh Dunkin' Donuts that is openin Wilmington, a town with a population of about 22,000 residents. On the Wilmington Patch Facebook and Twitter pages, many readers questioned the need for a new location, though there were also residents who were excited for a new place to swing by for a coffee. Some commenters also voiced their opinion that they would rather have …

Newest location on Concord Street would likely draw customers from industrial area of town.
Looking for a place to grab a coffee and a bagel? You’ll likely soon have another option for where to stop. During Monday’s Board of Selectmen meeting, members approved a conditional Common Victualer License for DJQ Donuts president Adam Quinn. Quinn asked selectmen to restrict the hours the newest Dunkin' Donuts will be open to 5 a.m.-9 p.m. because he said more thefts occur during the late night hours. In addition to the newest business, Quinn and his father, Mike, are franchisees for three Lowell Street Dunkin' Donuts locations and one on Middlesex Ave. During the meeting, Quinn told board members the newest location is …

CNN reports says Dunkin' Donuts will double stores in 25 years.
Here's some good news for coffee and Munchkin lovers in the area. Dunkin Donuts announced today that it will be doubling its locations in the United States over the next 20 years, according to a CNN report. In addition to more coffee, Dunkin' Donuts will be adding more jobs. The CNN reports says that each new store adds an average of 20-25 full and part-time new employees. The Boston Herald, meanwhile, is reporting that Dunkin’ Donuts’ parent company, Dunkin’ Brands Group, Inc., signed a new deal to keep “franchisees in new markets with the same product costs as franchisees in established Dunkin’ Donuts markets.” The deal, according to the Herald, will eliminate across the board product costs among franchise owners. According to Los …

We may "want" other restaurants, but apparently they dont want to move here. And some that are here have closed (Picadilly Pub) and others are struggling. The dunkin donuts on route 28 cause massive traffic jams in the morning on a busy road. I think this location will be more controlled and safer.   more ›
