Friday was Wilmington Day the Lowell Spinners. Wilmington's own Dalton Rolli threw out the first pitch, along with Town Manager Michael Caira. The state champion Wilmington High School boys hockey team was also acknowledged as part of Wilmington Day at LeLacheur Park. Rolli’s overtime winner against Masconomet in this winter’s North Division 2 boys hockey postseason was one of the signature moments of 2011, and it’s among the reasons the three-sport athlete was selected as the Wilmington Patch Athlete of the Year. “I felt like I was just flying,” said Rolli about the goal, which helped the team bounce back after allowing the tying goal with less than one second remaining in regulation. “I couldn’t feel my feet or anything.
