Book Store Next Door Part of Growing Trend

According to Boston Globe article, Wilmington shop is one of several thriving bookstores in difficult economic times.

Bookstores around the country are struggling due to difficult economic times and the emergence of electronic readers. But in Wilmington and other towns, a different kind of business is thriving. The Book Store Next Door provides an inexpensive way to purchase books and other items, all while benefitting Wilmington Memorial Library. In other towns around Massachusetts, similar stores have developed, a trend featured in a recent Boston Globe article. According to The Globe, The Book Store Next Door is among the most successful in the state with an estimated $1,000 to $1,500 raised per month. One Holiday Shopping Day Remains at Book Store

Saturday is final day shop is open in 2011.

Editor's Note: The following information was provided by The Book Store Next Door. Take advantage this Saturday of the last shopping day at the Book Store Next Door for the year. We will be closed Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. The store will re-open on Saturday January 7, 2012 10am-4pm. We have three rooms filled with fiction, children’s and non-fiction books at rock bottom prices. There is also a media room with VHS and DVDs, Videos, CDs and Audio books.   We have gift certificates in any denomination, which are great for stocking stuffers, teacher gifts, and anyone who loves to read. Update on I-93 Interchange, $6 Million in Free Cash and More From Board of Selectmen Meeting

A lot happened during the near-two-hour meeting on December 13 at Town Hall.

A lot of ground was covered at the Board of Selectmen meeting last night. Awards were received, noted and discussed, updates to the I-93 Interchange Project were brought up, and plans for future town projects were also noted. Ipods for Wounded Veterans Paul Cardello, co-host and producer for WCTV's Sports Forum, and Wilmington VFW quartermaster Edwin Williams came to the meeting yesterday to present Chairman Selectman Louis Cimaglia with a gift and a citation for his work with veterans. "We want to publically thank for your work with veterans of our town," said Williams.
