Wildcat Skaters Lead Bay State Games Team to Gold

Five Wilmington hockey players were key cogs in the Northeast team's gold medal win.

For Wilmington hockey players, it's been a year to remember on the ice. And for a handful of Wildcat skaters, the memories continued to grow last weekend. On Sunday, the Northeast Bay State Games team, led by five Wilmington players, snagged a shootout victory over the Metro team to earn a 5-4 gold medal win. Cam Owens, whose hat trick effort in the Division 2 championship game this spring helped bring home the school's first ever title, was among the Wilmington skaters on the Northeast team.
