Founded in 1770, the Wilmington Town Museum at the Colonel Joshua Harnden Tavern preserves and displays the history of the town while offering an example of 18th century architecture. The museum is contained within an 18th century tavern and offers monthly tours of the premises. The museum also has a Carriage House, for which the local Eagle Scouts built a staircase to provide extra space for exhibits.
