GymStreet’s camp program is extremely successful due to word of mouth and we do everything inRead More our power to set procedures in place to prevent any issues, in this case there was no communication between the parent, the child, and the person responsible for dropping off which resulted in this issue. Children have 6 choices for lunch every day and they have to place the lunch order upon check-in which is then marked on the bracelet, when I spoke to the parent with the above comment I explained that paying for the lunch is only the first step, her daughter under the supervision of an adult would need to let us know her choice (a list is provided at each check in station). When her daughter arrived it was indicated on the spreadsheet that she had paid for a lunch, when we gave her the lunch options and asked what she would like she told us she brought her lunch from home and the responsible parent standing beside her did not contradict her statement, so we proceeded to take her friends lunch order. This is the same procedure we follow for every child every morning of camp. During my conversation with the Mother I indicated that I was the owner and apologized for the confusion and went to explain that the check-in process is the most important part of the day and the information we receive from the adult in charge of that child needs to be accurate. I assured her that her daughter was eating whatever she had packed for her and wasn’t starving. Our counselors are trained to make sure every child has something to eat at lunch and morning/afternoon snack when they checked on her she was eating. We would NEVER allow a child to sit there and not eat anything. I also explained that it is not uncommon for a child to change their minds the morning of camp and choose to bring lunch from home. Myself and the camp director did investigate this thoughouly with the camp counselors and at no time did her child complain about being hungry or make any indication she was not having a great time with all the activities we had on the curriculum that day. As far as her complaint about picking up her child without having to provide the security number, the counselor used common sense and realized this person was responsible for this child. It also indicated on the check-in/check-out log that her and friend were coming in and leaving together so we would have allowed her friend to go with her no questions asked. The security numbers are a tool for us to use if a child seems uneasy about going with an adult or if the adult seems suspicious. Although we try to question every parent there are occasions where it is clearly evident the child knows the adult and it is not necessary. We are truly sorry that a miscommunication could have resulted in her daughter having bad experience. We have grown from our members concerns, comments, and suggestions and take them very seriously. We encouraged feedback as it is the only way we can improve our programs but in this case we did everything we could to make her daughter have a positive experience with us.

My daughter and son have gone to GymStreet USA for 4 years and absolutely love it. We have doneRead More gymnastics starting with parent and me. Doug was my daughter's teacher for parent and me and he is awesome with little ones. Since then my daughter has grown in to the Pre-Team. She loves gymnastics there. I love the facility. It allows for multiple kids to take class at the same time which is why we started going there. There is free wi-fi, a snack bar, games, and a kid play room. There is also karate, adult classes and dance classes. We have also gone to camp there during the summer and my kids love going. You know a camp is good when your kids keep asking when they are going back. They feel so comfortable there since we are there so often for gymnastics. We also had my daughter's birthday party there and all the kids had a fantastic time. We did the combo party which includes gymnastics and bouncing in the bounce houses. The staff was great and did everything.
