If you're driving on it chances are the Wilmington Department of Public Works is responsible for it. This department handles all construction, maintenance, repair and clean-up of all the roads, catch basins, drainage systems, sidewalks and traffic and street signs. And when winter weather hits, the Highway Division of the DPW is also responsible for all the salting, sanding, and plowing to keep the streets safe. The DPW also performs the town waste and recycling management.
