Weekend Agenda: A Shredding Truck at the Library, Bocce Tournament and More

Friday, Sept. 6

Learn-to-Skate Classes will begin on Friday, Sept. 6 at Ristuccia Memorial Arena.  Two classes will be offered: 4 p.m. to 4:50 p.m. and 5:20 p.m. to 6:10 p.m. Find out how to register.

Author William Landay will be at the Wilmington Memorial Library Friday at 7 p.m. to talk about the background of 'Defending Jacob,' how he came to write it, and some of the legal and scientific issues behind the book. Find out how to register.

Saturday, Sept. 7

A blood and bone marrow drive will be held in honor of Anthony Naimo on Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Wilmington Public Safety Building. The event is sponsored by the Wilmington Police Department, Wilmington Fire Department, Public Safety Dispatch, Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Family and Friends of Anthony Naimo. The Wilmington Memorial Library will host a shredding truck on Saturday at 10 a.m. Clean out your files in the Wildwood Lot behind the library. Find out more.

The Wildcat Athletic Alumni and Friends will host the first ever Battle 
of the High School Classes Bocce Tournament on Saturday at 72 Middlesex Ave. to support the growing number of successful student athletes Wilmington produces every year. Find out more here.

Greg Maichack, a Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) pastel demonstrator, will be at the Wilmington Memorial Library on Saturday at 1 p.m. to share water garden photos he took on site at Monet’s home studio in Giverny, France, and will paint with you from the same imagery that Monet used.
