In a battling of state champions, Division 2 defending champion Wilmington toppled Burlington, which won the Division 1 crown last year, by a 3-1 margin.
In a battle of defending state champions, it was the Division 2 version that came out on top on home ice Saturday at Ristuccia Arena against Division 1 champ Burlington.
Wilmington grabbed a 1-0 lead and bounced back after Burlington tied the game. The Wildcats pounced back on top, 2-1, and sealed the win with an empty net goal late.
