Wilmington High School teams get right back to work after a few days off for 2012 to turn into 2013.

When the New Year gets underway, it won't take Wilmington High School teams long to get back to work.

Also on the day is a hockey doubleheader. At 6 p.m. the girls hockey team plays in Watertown while the boys hockey team drops the puck at 8 p.m. inside the same venue.

Thursday it's the boys track team that gets the call in Melrose, beginning its meet at 5 p.m. The wrestling team faces a steep task as it grapples against perennial powerhouse Winchester at 7 p.m.

Friday's slate includes basketball tripleheaders at home and on the road. In Wilmington, the Lady Wildcats host Stoneham with freshmen, JV and varsity games scheduled for 3:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. respectively.

The boys meanwhile, have the same schedule of games. The only difference is that the boys team will play its trio of tilts in Stoneham.
