World Series Trophy Coming to Wilmington Friday

The 2013 trophy will be at Wilmington Middle School thanks to the Wilmington Educational Foundation.

Odds aren't good for Wilmington residents to win the World Series. But those hoping to get their hands on the championship hardware have the perfect opportunity on Friday afternoon.

The Wilmington Educational Foundation is sponsoring an event on at Wilmington Middle School on Friday night that will allow residents at no cost to see the 2013 Boston Red Sox World Series trophy.

Residents can come to the middle school from 3:30-5 p.m. to get their picture taken with the trophy. Doors open at 3 p.m.

The trophy will be displayed inside the auditorium, and the Memorial Day weekend event will be on a first come, first serve basis.

The Wilmington Educational Foundation is a non-profit organization aimed at supporting Wilmington Public Schools through private and community-wide fundraising efforts.
