Wilmington Public Schools will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 2 and Friday, Jan. 3 due to the impending storm expected to dump between 6 and 12 inches of snow on the Merrimack Valley.

Wilmington students have been on winter vacation for the past 12 days.

The storm is expected to begin during the day on Thursday and may drop 2-4 inches on Thursday. The snow should stretch into Friday with multiple Boston area forecasters predicting 6-12 inches of snow by the time the storm ends on Friday.

This is wrong - just plain wrong - teaching no lessons in responsibility or perseverance to our young - they are growing up thinking the least little (possible) impediment in their way and the can back off - and sit and do nothing - it's such a bad bad lesson telling kids they don't have to go to school because mat maybe - just maybe there may be some snow maybe coming - it's just wrong.
