What Did the Town Spend on Last Week?

The town cut 262 checks for a total of $3,606,548.52 last week.


Each week the town spends money approved in the annual budget for everyday expenses and, each week, Wilmington Patch will be running a new feature, highlighting a handful of these expenses for our readers' perusal.

The following is a small sample of who the town paid, how much they paid them, and for what reason. Check back each week for more line items out of the town's budget.

In total, the town cut 262 checks for a total of $3,606,548.52. Here are a few of those payments: 

  • The town paid $2,733,780.05 to Gilbane Building Company for construction services for the new high school.
  • The town paid $46,834.25 to Northside Carting Inc. for curbside collection of solid waste and recycling.
  • The town paid $3,948 to Essex Agricultural Society for tickets for Topsfield Fair paid by Recreation program fees.
  • The town paid $3,282.25 to School Mate for classroom supplies for the School Department.
