VIDEO: Candidates Bask in Election Day Sun

Residents running in contested races were around town making last minute campaign pushes on a sunny Saturday afternoon.

The minutes are ticking down on , and though voter turnout is lower than last year's, candidates made the rounds at the precincts around town.

As of 6 p.m., Town Clerk Sharon George reported that 1,712 residents have visited the polls, a total of 12 percent. In 2011, 20 percent of residents totalling 3,029 votes came to the polls. There are 15,516 registered voters in town.

Polls close at 8 p.m. on the . Michael Champoux and Kevin MacDonald are fighting for one spot on the Board of Selectmen. Mario Marchese, Mary Jane Byrnes and Manny Mulas are up for two seats on the School Committee.
