Massachusetts Sons of Italy to Honor Former Town Manager Michael Caira

The event is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 4.

Michael Caira contributed a great deal to the Wilmington community over his decades as Town Manager. And next month he will be honored for his countless hours of service.

The Grand Lodge of Massachusetts, part of the national Order Sons of Italy in America, announced recently that it will honor Caira and other leaders in the Italian-American community during the Massachusetts Education and Law Awards on May 4.

Caira will receive the Public Service Award at the event, while Peter DiGangi of the Lawrence Probate Court will receive the Justice Award and Medford Police Chief Leo A. Sacco will receive the Law Award.

In addition, 29 students will receive scholarships during the annual event.

“Our hope is to connect these exemplary and accomplished professionals at the height of their careers to the promising students that are just beginning their journey into adulthood,” said Carmelita Bello, State President of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts.

For tickets to the event, contact the Grand Lodge office by calling (617) 489-5234, or visit www.osiama.org.
