Hull Presents Proposed 2015 Budget

The budget would include an increase, but it's a spike less of an increase than residents saw during last year's budget process.

Wilmington residents now have an idea of what the town's budget may look like when they head to this year's Annual Town Meeting.

Town Manager Jeff Hull presented the budget to the Board of Selectmen earlier this week. According to the Lowell Sun, Hull's budget proposal for Fiscal Year 2015 is $94,249,393. That represents an increase of 2.89 percent over last year's budget, the newspaper reported.

For comparison, last year the town's budget increased by 3.9 percent over the previous year, according to The Sun.

Looking ahead to 2015, it is likely to be an exciting year for Wilmington. The long-awaited and long-debated new Wilmington High School will open its doors.
