Do You Approve of Wilmington's Budget Proposals?

Residents will have the chance to vote on the town's budget in May, but until then we want to know your take on the proposals.

Your vote will help decide whether or not the town's budget will pass at Annual Town Meeting in May. But why wait until then to weigh in?

Superintendent of Schools Joanne Benton issued her budget proposal to the School Committee earlier this month while Town Manager Jeff Hull revealed his overall operating budget proposal on Monday at the Board of Selectmen meeting.

Benton , which would represent a 3.25 percent increase over last year's budget. The Fiscal Year 2014 figure would be $1,058,520 more than the 2013 budget.

Hull's proposal, which also includes Benton's school budget, asks for a 3.9 percent spike to $89,849,023. That figure includes warrant articles worth $2,189,555 and would be high than the 2013 budget of $87,455.332.

Projects that could be approved this year are making all schools wireless, adding smart boards to classrooms at the middle school, road work in town and Yentile Farm planning, among others.
