Woman Calls Police for Lockout Help, Arrested for Second OUI

The following is an excerpt from the Wilmington Police log from Wednesday, Aug. 14, to Friday, Aug. 16.

Wednesday, August 14

5:05 p.m.: Lowell Transit reported an issue with a patron on one of their buses over a bicycle. A Lowell resident was summonsed for larceny over $250.

5:26 p.m.: At Eastgate Liquors, employees reported a black male who tried to shoplift a bottle of gin. He took off on foot behind the building, and is known to employees. A Wilmington man was summonsed for shoplifting by concealing, third offense.

6:14 p.m.: Police attempted to locate a male party with warrants who fled from officers in the area of Lowell Street. Randall Kroken, 46, of 384 Highland Ave., Malden, was arrested for being a fugitive of justice on a court warrant.

Thursday, August 15

4:43 a.m.: A Carter Lane resident reported that her son’s bicycle was stolen sometime overnight. The bike was replaced with a yellow bike, which will be brought back to the station.

10:30 a.m.: Officers arrived at Cumberland Farms to assist a motor vehicle lockout. Officers gained access, but requested back up to perform a field sobriety test. The driver was arrested. Susan R. Carroll, 45, of 30 Dunton Road, Wilmington, was charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operating under the influence of liquor, second offense, and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Friday, August 16

12:07 a.m.: A report of a party on Morse Ave. was called in. Peace was restored and a 18-year-old Wilmington resident was taken into protective custody.
