Wilmington Police Investigating Friday Bank Robbery

Police confirmed to Patch that an unarmed man robbed Lowell Five Bank at about 4:40 p.m. on Friday.

Wilmington Police are investigating a bank robbery that took place on Friday afternoon, though no one was injured during the incident.

Lieutenant Brian Pupa said the Lowell Five Bank inside Wilmington Plaza was robbed at about 4:40 p.m. on Friday afternoon.

Police do not expect to have a surveillance photo from the scene until Saturday at the earliest. The suspect is described as a white male about 5’6” tall with a medium build.

The man did not show a weapon during the robbery, and police did not disclose how much money, if any, he left with following the incident.

Pupa said it’s too early to determine whether the suspect has been involved in any other robberies in the area.

“We are treating this as an isolated incident,” said Pupa. “We are uncertain whether the suspect may have been involved in another robbery elsewhere.”
