Wilmington Police Hosting National Night Out Event

The event is scheduled for August 5 at 6 p.m. in Rotary Park.

Looking for something to do on an August summer night? Wilmington Police have you covered.

The Wilmington Police Department is hosting the first ever Town of Wilmington National Night Out, according to the department's Facebook page.

Police have scheduled the event for 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5. The event will take place at Rotary Park.

According to the Facebook event page, Wilmington's National Night Out will take place thanks to the grant received earlier this year from the Cummings Foundation.

"Join us at Rotary Park for fun and games, police and fire vehicle displays, a K9 demonstration, and a movie will be shown after dark," police said.
