Wilmington Man Charged With Drugged Driving After Fleeing Crash

The following information was taken from the Wilmington Police Department logs. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Wilmington Police log from Friday, April 11, to Saturday, April 12.

Friday, April 11

  • At 2:29 a.m. police were speaking with a taxi driver at Woburn Street School who had a customer refusing to pay. Police spoke with the passenger who agreed to pay his fare before heading home.
  • At 2:44 a.m. a sign for Rizzo’s Roast Beef was damaged and thrown to the side of the road.
  • At 8:44 a.m. a crash occurred on Chestnut Street and Appletree Lane with the vehicle hitting a wall. The Massachusetts State Police reconstruction team arrived at the scene. One person was transported by the Fire Department to Lahey Clinic.
  • At 11:09 a.m. a person fell off their bike on Richmond Street. A caller requested an ambulance, and the person was transported to Winchester Hospital.
  • At 8:48 p.m. a King Street resident could hear a man yelling and swearing loudly, though he was unsure where it was coming from. Police checked the area but found nothing out of the ordinary.

Saturday, April 12

  • At 1:25 a.m. police were checking on Shawsheen Ave. for a missing juvenile. An officer spoke to his mother, who was in contact with him earlier in the night but the juvenile would not give his location. Framingham Police were notified.
  • At 8:00 a.m. a Lawrence Street resident reported a generator was taken from his property. The generator was purchased a week ago. The resident planned to follow up with more information. The house is in the midst of renovations and the man was going to attempt to identify workers who have been at the house.
  • At 12:04 p.m. a Salem Street caller reported a pickup truck with extensive damage to the front end and a tire that appears it may fall off just passed his house and continued down Middlesex Ave. towards Route 62. A second call was received by dispatch reporting an accident in the area of 320 Salem Street with a black pickup truck that fled the scene. An officer reported that there was a truck matching the description in a yard on Kelly Road. Police were then out with the vehicle on Church Street at Adams Street, and a caller reported that about 10 minutes prior the same vehicle had driven by at a high rate of speed on Glendale Circle. The driver was eventually located and transported by the Fire Department to Winchester Hospital. Timothy John Doyle, 31, of 1 Kelly Road, Wilmington, was arrested for operating under the influence of drugs, leaving the scene of property damage, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, and tire tread depth violation. His bail was set at $2,500.
  • At 11:28 p.m. a resident on Ashwood Ave. reported someone rang his doorbell. When he opened the door there was a note with a slur written on it. He checked the area and saw two men taking off in reverse in a black sports car. The vehicle was later located and the men were identified.
