Wakefield Woman Summonsed After Leaving Andover Street Crash

The woman crashed deep into trees in the area before leaving in another vehicle.

Wilmington Police summonsed a Wakefield woman on Sunday after she allegedly crashed her vehicle into trees in front of an Andover Street home and allegedly left the scene.

Police received a call at 4:53 p.m. for a one-car crash with no injuries. But soon after the crash, the vehicle was reportedly left unattended off the road as two to four people allegedly left in a black sedan.

A tow company was called to the scene, and it reportedly was a lengthy process to pull the truck back on to the road because of how deep into the brush it was.

In addition, the Department of Public Works was notified to move a large boulder that had been pushed into the roadway.

Officers determined that the vehicle owner possibly lived in Wakefield, and officers from that town were sent to check the address.

Following the investigation, Wilmington Police summonsed a 28-year-old woman who resides on Salem Street in Wakefield. She was charged with leaving the scene of property damage.
